Tachyonics and ISC

A tachyon is an hypothetical particle which always travels faster than light. Predicted by Einstein's theory of Special Relativity, the tachyon possesses reversed causality compared to ordinary particles. That is, tachyons exhibit a "negative time" relative to normal time, with different forms of the particle capable of infinite and near-infinite velocities. Consequently, a tachyon must be represented as having imaginary momentum and/or mass, as viewed from real reference frames. (Lerner, 1246)

Physically, experimentally and empirically, there is as yet no definitive proof for the tachyon's existence, although there are many observable and theoretical implications for their existence which deserve consideration.

Here is how a tachyon appears to work, in simple terms. Imagine, for a moment, that we have a "magic" gun which shoots imaginary bullets that can travel faster than light. That is, the bullets are tachyonic. But we also have a normal gun that we use to shoot a hole in a relatively thin, wooden board which any normal bullet can completely penetrate. Because of impact, friction, and other considerations, a normal bullet will impart some of its forward momentum to the wood as it puts a hole in the board, so a certain amount of its generalized forces are imparted to the board in the direction of the bullet's momentum. It pushes the board in its direction of travel. A tachyonic bullet, however, would impart its corresponding forces in the opposite direction to its direction of travel, should we next shoot an identical board with the magic gun. Tachyons all pull rather than push as they pass through ordinary objects. And it would appear to an ordinary observer (assuming we can somehow "see" a tachyonic object) as if the tachyonic bullet came from infinity and landed in the barrel of the magic gun, at the instant the trigger is pulled -- as if a video of the normal event was run in reverse (although a hole would still be made in the board). What is more, a tachyonic bullet would theoretically be so much more destructive than any ordinary bullet as possibly to approach near infinite destructive power, because its superluminal speed would result in a comparative astronomical magnitude for the forward momentum.

Experimentally, to-date, no emphatic evidence for or against the existence of tachyons has been discovered -- so there has been no shortage of scientists who oppose the very concept. Admittedly, humans do not presently possess the capability of detecting particles that travel faster-than-light in subatomic regions. However, to explore ways of obtaining reliable methods of doing so, consider the relativistic formula for the mass m of a moving particle, denoted;
m = mo / {sqrt[1-(v/c)^2]} ,
where mo is the rest-mass, v is the velocity of m, and c is the lightspeed constant (~3x10^8 m/s, or ~186,000 mi/sec).

Traditionally, a comparable tachyonic mass, mt, was taken as an analog of some real mass (m), by writing; mt = im, where i is the standard imaginary-unit [defined; i = sqrt(-1)]. But if we allow that certain tachyons may exist alongside real particles, as implied by a possible tachyonic spacetime, then we need a new imaginary unit, called, for instance, the "imagination unit" [denoted by i] which distinguishes the imaginary numbers we are used to dealing with (in detectable spacetime) from the imaginary numbers used in tachyonic spacetime.  This new imaginary-unit can therefore be used to generate a new number system; a tachyonic number system, in perfect analogy to the standard number system.  So, there are two kinds of numbers:
(1) numbers used in ordinary space, termed “bradyonic”, where things move at or below c, and time is positive, and
(2) numbers used in tachyonic space, where things move faster than c, and time is negative (as viewed from a bradyonic frame).

In practice, it is said that we can look for a negative value for the mass squared, in our search for tachyons.  Past attempts to find such a mass by looking for missing mass in a nuclear reactor were not considered fruitful. Other attempts to find the tachyon involved searching for Cherenkov radiaton near a nuclear reactor, on the off-chance that tachyons possess electrical charge [see entry "Tachyon", by R.H. Good, in the McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology, and note the author's conclusion]. (Lerner, 1246, par. 5)  But in response to these null results, we should inquire as follows. Why cling to the old dogma that nothing goes faster than lightspeed? In point of fact, Special Relativity does not imply that nothing at all exists (or cannot exist) on the other side of the lightspeed barrier of our detectable spacetime. The math merely shows that it takes an infinite amount of energy to accelerate a real massive object up to lightspeed. There is absolutely no hint from Relativity that some kinds of particles which might already exist on the other side of lightspeed cannot be there, and many reasons to conclude that the tremendous amounts of energy released during the Big Bang, which resulted in the creation of the fundamental particles we humans have detected and cataloged so far, also created tachyons of various kinds, which remain to be detected directly. And if there are tachyons which do emit some form of Cherenkov radiation, then that radiation would likely be a superluminal analog of what we know as Cherenkov radiation, and would therefore remain just as undetectable as the tachyons emitting it. Consequently, tangible proof for the existence of tachyons is not to be had by such means.

Even so, large-scale interstellar bodies are being observed which seem to be moving at superluminal rates relative to other interstellar bodies [search "Superluminal Velocities in Quasars"]. And there is experimental evidence that photons of electromagnetism can be made to engage in superluminal tunneling, as has been demonstrated in recent internal-reflection experiments [search "photonic tunneling"; see also "Phase Time Determination For Superluminal Tunneling ...; J.S. Parker; in the Journal of Undergraduate Research In Physics, American Institute of Physics, Fall, 1997, vol.16, no.1, pages 21-25]. What is more, since a negative mass squared has shown up with respect to the neutrino, some physicists are suggesting that the neutrino is tachyonic, or perhaps has superluminal substructure.  http://www.npl.washington.edu/AV/altvw54.html

Let us therefore take the mathematical implications from Special Relativity as proof-enough to justify our theoretical investigation into the possibility that tachyons exist, so that we may lay groundwork for future theorists to build on (or tear down) in more advanced times. In this respect, therefore, in seeking proof pro-or-con, one area needing special attention is detection technology. Let us turn the detectors on themselves, so to speak, and ask why we must rely so heavily on the use and/or detection of the electromagnetic spectrum, almost exclusively, in all instrumentation. Because we now require a detector so accurate that it can indicate motion or energy release or moving mass -- or anything -- going faster-than-light microcosmically; most especially for distances smaller than the Planck-length (~1.6x10^-33cm). (Lerner, 455)

We could propose that more experiments go beyond building on the discoveries that have come before, and come up with something new -- a comprehensive means of describing experimental reality. We need an Interdiscipline Synthesis Cosmology (ISC) to provide for a more complete theoretical conceptualization of reality; a more accurate model of reality, not the usual narrowly-focused ones, although specialization must likewise be incorporated.

The fundamental tenet, of course, already the foundation of quantum mechanics, is that existence is multidimensional. It is, in fact, superdimensional; meaning, along with measureable dimensions associated with our detectable spacetime manifold, there are analogs in alternate-dimensional spacetimes, or "unseen realms", that must be accounted for, and which cannot be ingnored in models presented as complete descriptions of our existence. Fortunately, mathematics comes to the rescue with the new discipline inspired by special-relativity and the observation of actual superluminal phenomena; the discipline of Tachyonics.

In addition to furthering our understanding of reality, Tachyonics holds forth the possibility of fantastic capabilities, such as near-instantaneous interstellar communications systems, the prospect of breaking the lightspeed barrier to spaceflight, and the gaining of access to unlimited sources of energy, possibly even enabling us to tap into infinite energy potentials.

If this sounds impossible, remember; science fiction today can become science fact tomorrow. Tachyonics, the founding endeavor of Interdiscipline Synthesis Cosmology (ISC), may provide the intellectual means of accomplishing the mental leap required for combining concepts from disciplines as varied as theoretical physics and spiritual theology. Thus, in realizing that we need an ISC to thoroughly explain detectable and undetectable reality, we understand that we are seeking the ability to quantitatively define the actually-imaginary variables we will be needing for our efforts at detecting and then utilizing tachyons sometime in the future, along with defining the symbolically-imaginary variables we are already used to.

The simplest representations format that provides us with this ability involves employing the imagination unit (i) to distinquish all superluminal quantities from all sublight quantities, which will eventually provide the intellectual means of establishing a complete ISC, from which may spring the formulation of an even more comprehensive Theory of Existence (ToE). In short, given the tachyon's proven existence, someday, we can say that Tachyonics showed us the way.

(1) Tachyons and Tachyonics

Tachyons are hypothetical particles which always travel faster than light. They are usually described as exhibiting reversed causality (negative time) compared to ordinary particles, and some of them are capable of moving at infinite speed. It is by virtue of this reversed causality, however, that tachyons, implied by Einstein's theory of Special Relativity, are, in my mind, absolutely the most important of theoretical particles sought by physicists, since detecting them potentially offers to us humans the means by which we may at last explain the nature of quantum gravity in an empirical way; the way that best fits experiment and observation.

Additionally, Tachyonics could lead to great advances in technology, including futuristic instantaneous communications capabilities (spanning unlimited reaches of space), and a practical means of breaking the lightspeed barrier to spaceflight, and perhaps even space-weapons so powerful as to make atomic bombs seem trivial by comparison.  What is more, Tachyonics can be used to explain many previously unexplained natural and supernatural phenomena, including the way the mind works, the life-force of all living things, the nature of spirit beings, actual magic, and all psychic attributes, such as clairvoyance, distance viewing, telepathy, psychokinesis, and so on.

To be sure, detection of tachyons would revolutionize the way we view the universe and our place in it, since proof that tachyons exist would force all seekers of truth to adopt a new natural philosophy, some Interdiscipline Synthesis Cosmology that blends science, spirituality and the arts in a way that transcends traditional modes of thought.

Mathematically, a tachyonic mass Tm can be viewed as the superluminal analog of a sublight mass Sm, where an operator similar to the imaginary unit, i = (-1)1/2 , transforms Sm into Tm, like the imaginary unit (i) transforms a real number (y) into an imaginary.

Technically, the standard representation gives the tachyon using a negatively signed imaginary-unit.
That is, Tm = -iSm , where i = (-1)1/2 ; i2 = -1 .
But this operator is not sufficient to impart the kind of characteristics I was looking for in a detectable tachyon. What is needed, it seems to me, is a new kind of imaginary unit, an “imagination-unit”, now called Richter’s Tachyonics Operator. I denote it as i^i or ii , but where the super-script is not an exponent (it’s just symbolic).

Multiplication by this new operator does not imply the standard transformations (to a standard pure imaginary, or such as implying rotation, etc.), but implies transposition of specifications relating to the speed at which Sm travels through space. Hence, if Sm is the mass of a real particle in ordinary spacetime, then the equation Tm = (i^i)Sm defines it as the tachyonic analog of Sm, and it is treated algebraically like an imaginary quantity.

(2) Superluminal Quantum Gravitation

There are several attributes that the virtual-exchange particle for gravity must exhibit without question, and a great many other characteristics that such particles may exhibit, with particulars taken on a case-by-case basis.
Attributes:

The overall effect of gravity must be to impart warping of spacetime; curvature of space measured according to specification related to the passing of time, where the curvature corresponds to that described in the field equations of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity, for astronomical distances. That is, General Relativity must hold for any model that purports to explain gravity at the quantum level (subatomic scale), using a virtual-particle (gauge field). Correspondingly, the interaction must cause an attraction between all masses, regardless of the type of masses involved, and must therefore involve a representation that conforms to (or, at least, does not contradict) Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation, defined;
Given a mass M1 exerting a force F1 of attraction on another mass M2, then
F1 = G[(M1xM2)/(r^2)],
where F1 is the magnitude of the attractive force (in Newtons, N),
r is the distance between the masses (making F1 proportional to the square of the distance, in meters), and
G is Newton's constant {6.67x[10-8] m/[kg(s2)]}.
Any real mass must act like the source of a monopole field of emitted gravity-exchange particles, making the gravitational field the only naturally occurring monopole field, since all other energy fields known exhibit bipolar and multi-polar characteristics. Gravity is by all accounts one-dimensional in nature, the electro-weak field is two-dimensional (i.e. the electric, magnetic, and weak-nuclear fields are aspects of the same bi-polar field, in gauge-field theory), and the chromodynamic field must be represented using three or more dimensions (involving color-based “charge” labels). Gravitational particles must be radiative; emitted as if from a radioactive substance. Otherwise, it’s not necessarily a monopole.

Proposed quanta of gravity must be of such character as to explain why physicists have been unable to detect them at subatomic distances, and why they eluded detection for so long, when all other particles needed for a unification have been found or implied from repeatable experiments and/or empirical observation. Though gravity was one of the first fundamental forces of nature to be investigated scientifically, the quantum of gravity has remained an enigma (until now).

My Conclusion:

Studying all hypothetical particles proposed as the quantum of gravity reveals only one candidate that fits all of the requirements for explaining all experimental evidence, and that particle is a special tachyon. Hence, gravity is probably faster then light, and is likely specifically to be a tachyonic force. The superluminal nature of gravity has in fact been substantiated by the late Tom Van Flandern.  See the Meta-Research site, for more on this:  http://metaresearch.org/

(3) Magic and the Unseen Forces of Existence

An investigation into the nature of actual magic, including its beginnings, what it is, what it can and can't do, the deep secrets of magic, and how it can be put to use, reveals that it is the ability to manipulate forces traditionally referred to as "unseen" forces, but which are actually superluminal in nature. That is, magic is tachyonic, or largely depends on tachyonic energies, which means actual magic, mysticism, psychic ability, and other supernatural phenomena are different uses of energies comprised of virtual particles that move faster-than-light, and which cannot yet be detected by physical instruments.

Some individuals can use certain tachyonic energies more readily than others, though all of us tap into these unseen forces in one way or another. Thought itself probably originates from a tachyonic field (an invisible "spirit" mind), with the result that observed electrochemical activity takes place in the human brain. And the life-force of all living things is likely another interrelated field (likewise invisible, and just beyond the reach of medical science). Realizing that unseen tachyonic forces exist causes us to reevaluate traditional assumptions, no matter how dear we have held those tenets in the past. We are perforce drawn to Tachyonics so as to ensure future experimental relevance.

Magic, miracles, and metaphysics can now be explained in an empirical manner, mathematically speaking, when we consider seriously the possibility that unseen energetic particles, tachyons, are the root causes or enablers of such phenomena. Neither can we keep thinking that all these are unrelated aspects of our existence.

At first we might wonder how such a controversial position could be supported by facts, since we cannot yet detect tachyons at the quantum level. However, if it is eventually shown that gravity is tachyonic, then it will stand as the first example of how unseen superluminal forces can have direct affects on detectable materials. It remains now for scientists to detect tachyons directly, so that such hypotheses can be tested. Then is when we begin learning the full truth about magic and the unseen forces of existence.

(4) The Physics of the Gods

Tachyons can be used to represent the substantive nature of all spirit entities, including angels, demons, gods, demi-gods, ghosts, fairies, and all manner of other non-physical creatures reported in myth, religion, and folk-lore. Consequently, it is no longer possible for scientists to speak of such entities as figments of people's imaginations, nor can our fundamentalist religionists say that aliens do not exist; for they are the very same thing.

Angels are a type of space-alien, although such a revelation cannot be used as some kind of excuse to impose atheism on religious people. To the contrary, this realization forces hardcore atheists to reconsider their own stances, while requiring all spiritual-minded individuals to modify their mental picture of non-physical life-forms. We can no longer say things are one way or another, since they can be all simultaneously.

The reality is that alternate-dimensional life-forms probably exist, whether we have been calling them aliens, angels, or whatever. And those which ancient people have named must surely exhibit many of the characteristics attributed to them, but they are not what we thought they were, regardless of the standpoint from which we have been defining them. The correct view is a synthesis of all views.

The most accurate concept of angels, therefore, is neither scientific nor religious, but something different. And to make the mind
work its way around this idea, we merely have to consult the arts. This mental triad -- physics, spirituality, and the arts -- allows us to put our perceptions of reality on a more all-inclusive footing; coincident both with controlled experiment and metaphysical philosophies; meaning, we cannot reject ideas from different disciplines out of hand, even if they are at odds.

Thus, the physics of angels can be comprehended only by bringing scientific, religious, and artistic points of view together in a composite understanding. From science we can obtain an hypothetical particle, the tachyon, which places the nature of spirit forms on a mathematical footing. Think of them as spirits or as alternate-dimensional aliens if you like, it makes no difference, because we must look to myths, religions, and folk-lore for descriptions of their interactions with humans, to maintain quantitative empiricism.

The logic goes like this. If there is a non-zero probability of life existing elsewhere in the universe, besides on the Earth, then there is the possibility that some such life-forms are alternate-dimensional in nature, which means that some portion of those may be just like the gods, angels, demons, fairies, and other non-physical or pseudo-physical entities reported throughout history in every culture, in every land, in every epoch; to one extent or another. Consequently, we must view angels, for instance, as a type of alien, or allow that certain aliens resemble angels, and that they are actually creatures made-up of tachyons, regardless of how we view them on a personal level, for they are beyond us -- yet, they are not beyond our imagination.

The Physics of the Gods is therefore enabled by incorporating Tachyonics into modern scientific thinking; allowing it to serve as the stimulus for constructing an Interdiscipline Synthesis Cosmology from which a Theory of Existence eventually emerges, capable of describing all natural processes in the most accurate manner that is humanly possible.

That is, Tachyonics shows us the way.
